So its about that time again, and as you prob. know, yes i do a my own writting so will take full credit for the spelling mistakes and bad grammer!
Decided I had to eave Goa, because i was going to spend the rest of my time there or get into some troube, or something aong those ines. (I'd just ike to piont out the number after k key is very temprimenta, i write number because etter sounds stupid)
So I made my way down to Fort Cochin, by train, over night ant it was pretty coo (he he he) had to get to Ernacuam station and get a rickshaw from the station to the ferry dock, who woudn't accept any money, not cos he was a good oak, nooooo, its because he wanted more so bonus!, got the ferry across to Fort Cochin and man that pace is good, they got some ancient Chineese fishing nets ined up aong the shore and its amazing watching them work. they got these rocks danging as countering weights. Adnd it was pretty cool cos i bumped into some friends I met in Bombay, Yarden and Anna, and in Goa and we decided to go and have dinner and to go and see a traditiona dance which was... different, but unfortunatey I was eaving the next day, heading down to for the backwaters. had to get back across the water and get another rickshaw, and app. its karma that happened, cos the driver charged a stupid amount to get to the station! thank goodness I wasn't traveing that way aone, I met a Sweed aong the way who aso fancied seeing the backwaters, so made our way down south ony took about an hour, Aleppey is a quiet pace but the ocas are very friendy. am going to finish this at another internet pace ater because its redicuous! see what i mean! he he he..
Lets try that again, take 2!:
So any ways after leaving Fort Cochin with Andrea, the Sweed, we headed down to Alleppey, not much going on there but a very friendly place, so we hung around for a few daysand heard about this secret beach, sounded like a good thing, so got out there and it was on of the best beaches I've seen in India but there was secret about this beach! we found what we tought was a quiet spo and started being watched by the local construction workers, I say we, these guys were straight up perving over Andrea. Went over to them to ask them if they could chill or at least be subtle about it... then she pops out from behind me and starts freeking out at these dudes, biiiiiig mistake, a couple of these guys got out their mobiles and in a few minutes some of their crew rocked up just to help them sit and oogle. So since she got these boys all excited I left her on the beach to watch our stuff so I could have a surf, what a gentleman, huh?
Wasn't in for long got smashed down six was from sunday, big shore breaks, nothing to do with my technique.... Got back to our spot, to a very cheesed off younge lady who insisted on going for a walk... alone, I think she was trying to tell me something, dont know?!
Eventualy got back to the hotel and we met some more travelers, 3 English guys and a German girl, got talking and we all where keen to tour the backwatersthe only diff was the budgets, the Eng boys wanted to take a 24hr houseboat, didn't realt appeal, didn't realy feel like moving around for 24 hrs and ending up at the same spot. The alternative planwas a 2 1/2 hr ferry through the backwatwers on a government ferry ending up in Kottayam, for a fraction of the cost, and both Andrea and Anna (the German) also thought it was the better option, so that was cool. We decided to leave the next morning and get the earliest ferry so it wouldnt be to hot... we missed it! TYPICAL!
Caught the next one a couple of hours later, amaizing stuff! The ride was just like a bus cruising down an open highway and making breif stops along the way, dropping off and picking up people, and there was even a couple of drawbridges for footpaths!
We got to the last stop, Kottayam our rickshaw driver told us about this yearly festival which was taking place and was free, there was going to be a Katikali play and temple eli's in all their sounded awsome! Checked into the guesthouse and thought it was about time I replaced my phone, left the girls and headed into town, took a few hours to sort this out, then started back to the guesthouse. Up till this point my everything was going well and I thought the locals where great, up till this point.
I jumped onto a bus and was charged a stupid amount (way more thasn I paid for the journey into town), then was kicked off the bus, I was realy ^&*(ing *&*&ed off about this I had now idea why this happened, mabye they where worried about this yetti standing over them? I ended up walking the same direction as the bus for a couple of kilometers and still had no clue . Got a rickshaw driver to head in the same direction, I was just looking for the bus stop, then I would be fine, but it never appeared and we ended up in the middle of the sticks. The dude wanted to be payed, there where no houses around or anything just trees, mabye he thought I wanted to hang upside down from a tree for the evening? I don't know?
Then it began, a full on bout off agressive signing and profanities (the later mighthave been just me), it was getting dark and I was starting to panic. started playing with this fone and turned it on, I didnt know the battery was suppose to work on new phones!!! but there was F A signal ! got the driver to turn around and get us into range, called the shop I got the phone from and got the add of the guesthouse, because theytook the card I had with all the details! What a mission!
The festival was cool saw 5 huge temple eli's, all dressed up! After a few hours of watching eli's, place, behind the scene makeups and all sorts of others we made our way back, for some reason both the girls knew the address back to front. We all split the next day, I headed down to Trivandrumto hang out for a couple of days, nothing interesting happened there. Went north to Madurai arrived there at 5 in the morning, and saw the sun rise over the temples, very cool! The brightest coloured temples I have seen so far. I still haven't got the whole joga and spiritual thing, althought there are alot of them walking around... space cadets. I left the next morning for Pondicherry which is right on the coast, but doesn't have a beach just rocks, but the place is realy busy, didn't take long before I left there too, now I in Mamalpuram this place is cruisy and I think I'll hang around for a little while, had some grub with the brothers yesterday eating rice and curry off a banana leaf!
Be good everyone take care
Tommo out!
