Tom - World Tour!
It took us 8 hours on the Intercity coach with a bus of travel sick school kids and a driver on a power trip to reach one of the main south island glacier towns, Franz Josef, fun! The next day we walked o the Terminal face of the glacier which we manged to put off for 4hours later than expected as we were waiting for a gap in the torrential rain which never came!! It was awesome though to see the glacier and to walk to the bottom with all the other tourists who seemed to ignore the do not go any furher signs! We chilled out in the evenings being old men in the hostel sat round a log fire playing cards and chess with bottle of wine chatting to Matt and Marter who we stumbled across from my accommodation in the Abel Tasman! I think all we were missing were the tweed hat and pipe but maybe next time!
So today we got a lift with an Oz guy from Franz Josef to Queenstown via the another glacier, Fox glacier. Queenstown is pretty cold at the moment but I think were going to stay for a couple of nights and head up to Mt Cook and then to Christchurch to fly back to Auckland.
Using a rubbish apple mac at the moment so can\'t upload pics but will try and find a net cafe soon!
