BIRTHDAY BOY TODAY! Happy 20th birthday nath ❤️.
Today we went on the jeep safari, which was possibly one of the best excursions I've ever been on! This was booked through our hotel rep even though he had ripped us off it was a far better jeep safari than the others to offer out there! We was collected by our hotel and taken into the mountains. We sat and waited for the rest of the convoy this gave us a chance to speak to the people in our jeep and make new friends and I couldn't have asked for better people to be with! We had a couple which it was there 25th wedding anniversary and she was a nurse! Which I wish I had never asked Nathan didn't stop! So he had his company.
We then set off and started climbing the mountain it was awfully steep and heights aren't my favourite thing. Following these dusty tracks, through small villages whilst hanging off the edge of the cliff where you can see the road falling below you!
It was a great way too see turkey and it's wild life. We drove past tortoises goats and lizards all just roaming free. This safari stopped at many different points during the day.
Our first stop was a tiny village down at the bottom of the mountain so yes we was going back down! Where we stopped for an hour for a beer! We took no money as we was on a budget, but the people we met where buying us beer all day bless them!
Off we went again back up the mountain and through the forests, we kept on going until we stopped at what looked like someone's house. This was lunch time. When we arrived we got a run down of the honey business out there and got to try a variety of honeys and even pure pollen. Lunch again consisted of more chicken and rice. This was a very relaxed atmosphere just a few wasps causing us problems.
We set off again and stopped at a traditional Turkish home to take a look. There housed consisted of a sofa and a rug and not much more. They grew all there own crops and fruit to sell at market to earn money.
We then moved on and stopped at the waterfall. Which was beautiful it went all the way through the forest winding in and out of the trees and rocks, clear blue water surrounded by beautiful wildlife.
But off we went again for our last and final stop Jesus beach, where you can walk to the centre of the ocean and have spring water on your left and sea water on your right but neither of them mix. It feels as if you are walking on water as you can walk so far out.
Off we want again back through the mountains the last part was scary as the rocks where just falling behind you! We made it in the end.
Two people I will never forget was Mary and Julie both in there 70's and exploring the world left there husbands at home and went away. Both of them still so fit and healthy proper inspiration to never stop going! They where off all of the trip doing what we was all doing jumping in and out of this jeep I just couldn't quite believe it as they looked so old and frail but no nothing was stopping them!
Back home we got washed and ready for dinner, where we returned to pilot pub and ordered there special! Wow this was something you must order when in turkey. A massive price of rump steak slowly cooked. It came out with flames everywhere on a massive platter of salad. Then we was given plates which came with rice chips and bread. The steak was then cut in front of us and cooked to taste in brandy where they set fire to it again! Best meal I had would defiantly recommend.
It was Nathan's birthday so out came a cocktail on the house and all the staff singing and dancing, the cocktail even came inside a melon.
Back home to bed ready for the next excursion......
