6th June - Day 7:
So today was our one week mark on our travels and Lottie's sunburn is finally gone which is good news for everyone concerned...! We woke up fairly early and got a high speed boat across to Koh Phangan, which only took about 20 minutes. We'd prearranged to head up to the Shiralea Resort in Haad Yao which was recommended by my mate Rich, which is a slightly quieter part of the island and is meant to be one of the best places in Thailand for diving which we're definitely considering doing. The bungalow that we have been given is lovely, much more spacious than the room we had in Chaweng, and all the staff here that we've met so far have been well sound and invited us to a party at a bar called Crave, which was having its 1 year anniversary party since it opened. We stayed there until about 1am and had quite a few drinks, then left to walk the 10 minutes back to our resort. When we left, 3 dogs, actual dogs not hideous women, came out of nowhere and escorted us all the way back to the door of our chalet, was very strange but very nice of them! Think the plan is to stay here for a little while and just chill out and get some sun and also do the standard half moon and full moon parties which are coming up shortly. Considering blacking up for one of them as apparently anything goes but we will see! I may need to consult Tim on that one haha. It is low season at the moment so it is very quiet at the resort but we've been told it will pick up shortly before the parties and I'm sure we will meet some more travellers and make some friends but for now, it's cool just to chill in such a lovely place. 14th June:
We havnt updated for a while because we've just been chilling the last week and lying in the sunshine! We did get a Jeep for a day and went and saw a couple of waterfalls, which were lovely, and on the way back we found an elephant trecking place which also had monkeys and crocodiles! I got a picture with a 12 foot long crocodile and Tom was too much of a wimp! We met a few people since being here, Kris is from Essex and was really cool. He left today but is moving to Sydney to work for 4 years so will meet up with him then, and Sean from Canada left a few days ago but may meet up with him in Cambodia or somewhere else along the way. Tom was Scuba Steve for a day on Sunday and went diving with Reefer's Diving and loved it! I think I would of cried whenever I saw a fish so probably a blessing in disguise I didn't go. I tried it out in the pool the day before and freaked out and I also couldn't equalise my ears so gave it a miss. 28 backpackers have arrived today so there are people everywhere and the full moon party is in 2 days which will be crazy! we are going up to the bar to try and get some food and im sure a few drinks! We have 4 days left here then ithink we will head to Koh Tao until our visa in Thailand is up! Will keep you updatd of what we are doing! Lottie
