the last leg of our australia adventure, note a cold one but definately not miserable. tom's extra facial hair and fury head coming into use over a few chilly nights! we came lucky with a deal and picked up a flash motorhome for our travels. we spent 4 days navigating our way along the south and taking in the amazing views of the great ocean road. the drive was great fun!
our route took us south through the adelaide hills, across the murray river and continued along the coast through coorong national park. our first stop was a small town called mount gambier and also the first set of street christmas lights we had seen...suddenly home seemed much nearer! this area was a beautiful formation of volcanic rocks with 'saphire' blue pools - as described in the brochure ;) we then spent the following days cruising the great ocean road taking in the coastal formations of the bay of islands, the grotto, london bridge, the loch ard gorge and the beautiful 12 apostles (or 11 as there actually are!) - a special sight as you see it on tv and in books and its just a great feeling to actually be there (pretty much how we've felt everywhere we've been!!).
our final drive brought us here to melbourne where we have just a few days before we head off to new zealand - a little scary!
