Chloe, Day 5.
So we spent our last day with Annika () in Stockholm on Friday and had a fabulous guided tour around the whole city. Thankyou Annika and family for having us!
Saturday somehow turned into a Lazy day, in that all we really did was traveled to our fabulous trendy hotel (thankyou mum) making the most of all the free goodies in our 'mood' room then went over to the ICEBAR - which, would you believe is ABSOLUTELY freezing! They make you wear these funny ponchos, and everything is made out of ice - crazy...
On sunday we put in a good hours work at the buffet breakfast at the hotel, and I ate SO much, that I couldn't move for like an hour and honestly thought it was all gonna come back up again..but it didn't. I think in total I managed about 4 'courses' - cereals, toast/croissants, cooked foods and fruit. Yesterday We also went to Skansen which was the worlds first open air museum and has all different houses/trades from all over Sweden since about the 16th century.... Tom was hugely excited about the glassblowing (which Chloe wasn't) and we got to see all the native Swedish animals like seals, wolves and wild bears - who bear a strangely strong resemblance to Tom......
Last night we arrived in Uppsala to our very first 'real' couchsurfing hosts Thomas and Sanna, who are lovely! They even made us coq au vin for dinner, and we've got our own little guest room! A wee bit worried about tomorrow night and the night after that as we don't actually have anywhere to stay as of yet - although we do have 3 possible leads! So if anyone has any friends in stockholm who might like some company let us know!
In case Tom hasn't mentioned it yet Sweden is SO expensive, even at the old fail safe McDonalds a meal costs about 4.50! I have thus decreed to live off korv and dryck from pressbyran for a mere 28 kroner(a hot dog and a drink from a national newsagents for about 2.40) for the rest of our stay in Sweden.
As we speak Tom has now managed to leave his mark on another house, as another innocent plate enters the bin in pieces.
Off now to explore Uppsalas delights,
Lots of love Chloe (and Tom)
