Tom, Day 2.
After a good night's sleep (during which it never really got dark as sunset is at 11pm and sunrise is at 3am) we got up for a breakfast of reindeer cheese - which fortunately is squirty cheese with reindeer in it, rather than the cheese of a reindeer! Although clearly not for the reindeer. But it's actually really nice, and I think we may be sending a few tubes home in the post...
Our starting point of Swedish exploration was in Sigtuna, apparently the oldest town in Sweden. We saw old streets, little houses, monesterys, ruined churches, runestones, and the smallest town hall I've ever seen, all of which you can probaby get a much better impression of theogh the photos (which we'll upload soon) than my writing abouth them! After Sigtuna we drove to what Annika described as 'a castle' but which turned out to be more of a stately home (apparently the words are the same in Swedish) which Chloe and I liked very much and decided we'd definately like to move into - donations gratefully accepted! We then went for a swim in a Swedish lake, which was as bracing as could be expected, especially as some of us (Chloe) didn't bring swimsuit or a towel.
On the way home we stopped off at a Swedish supermarket called Willies (which we had a good laugh at) for some more reindeer, it not being a good day for them, for a dinner of renskav which is delicious, kind of like reindeer stroganoff. We then met the rest of the Daven clan, before ending the night trying to learn Swedish from subtitles of Lord of the Rings.
Tomorrow: Stockholm!
