Kiwi Ex – Day 03 – 8th Nov

We got to Waitomo around lunch time. In the afternoon we went quad biking. We got our first proper introduction to Mason, an American on the bus. At the first gate instead of stopping he flew right in front of me into a fence and flipped over backwards. To his credit he just jumped back on and got on with it.

That night Smiley, our driver, set up a BBQ and everyone had a great night. There was about 20 of us all playing various drinking games at one point. This was the point we knew we had a good group.

The next day there was a big disappointment. It had rained so much during the night that the caves for black water rafting was flooded and were cancelled.
