Woke up to another beautiful sunny day; another scorcher! To get to Pompeii we opted to go via a ferry to Sorrento via Capri. Not the cheapest route but definitely a cooler option as Laura does not do well in the heat. We arrived in Sorrento, but still had to go up over 75 steps to get to town where the train station is located. Using our Campania card, we hopped on the train to the Pompeii Scavi station, which is across the street from the site. We wanted to use a guide at €10, but we needed a minimum of 6 people. In the end, we opted to used the audio guide which we had a bit of an issue using as the site numbers were not that easy to find, and the recording would sometimes cut off. Pompeii is a huge site and quite overwhelming. We only managed to cover half of it as the heat was too much for Laura; she got very dizzy. Rather than having her suffer heat stroke, we had no choice but to pack it in. At least I can check "visit Pompeii" off my bucket list!
We rturned to our place in Positano and ate the rest of the meal from cooking class for dinner. It was delicious!
