Ouch, owwww, ahhhhhhh, I think my left arm is about to spontaneously combust...no seriously, someone get a fire blanket.
Yes, yes, you'd think I'd learn that being so pale and fair I burn easily, but nnnooo, I just had to sit by the pool until I finished my book The Girl Who Played With Fire (I know, how ironic), and now my arms are sunburnt (the pic doesn't do it justice, it's at least 2nd degree burns!) and I am now having to drink considerable amounts of alcohol for anaesthetic purposes.
After 3 days in Koh Samui doing exactly nothing we're both feeling extremely relaxed (although some more in pain than others!). We basically spent the entire time by the pool on the beach, alternating between swimming in the pool and the sea and eating lots of spicy food and drinking cocktails. There's really nothing else to report.
Oh, unless you want a further update on my state of disrepair, I have also been bitten to death by mosquitos, previously they were just going for my legs but now they have decided my arms, hands and back taste pretty good too, despite repellant, tiger balm and mosquito plug next to the bed. And not that I'd want Robin to be suffering too but it's highly annoying that despite him never wearing suncream he's as brown as, in his words 'Trevor McDonald' (I honestly don't know what goes on in his head, Trevor McDonald wouldn't have been my first comparison), also he never gets bitten by mosquitos, I guess it's his Caribbean blood, but it's so unfair!
Anyway, tomorrow we're getting the boat to Kao Tao which is a quieter island the other side of Koh Phan Ngan so looking forward to getting burnt more there ;)

Frances (mum) Shame about your sunburn, Tina, but it could be much worse. The weather here is grey, cold and miserable - everything we all love about the English weather. Enjoy the sunshine while you can. There's not much here. Guess my Caribbean blood never really got used to the English lack of sunshine. Glad to know Robin got some benefit from his though. Singapore sounded fantastic. Even better than I remember. Obviously Robin completely forgot that we had all been to Sentosa Island. As we were travelling he may have been asleep. No seriously he and Heather spend most of the day there riding around on rented bikes - lovely memories. Looking forward to seeing you both soon.
