Bounty Island! We got here a few hours after leaving Nabua lodge. We got off the main boat and were transfered to Bounty on a smaller boat. It was much more happening; as we expected it to be. We were greeted onto the island in familar fashion, guitars and singing from a choir of Fijians. Shortly after arriving we were shown to our mixed dorm. It was the first time we have stayed in a large mixed dorm - it had about 20 beds in, all bunk beds. It was a beautiful island as most of these islands are and the resort was much more packed than we had seen previously. In our welcome meeting we were told about the free activities which included snorkelling, kayaking etc. There were also cheap massages available, there were phones there, a proper bar, pool table, table tennis. We had hit jackpot after being so isolated for the previous 10 days. The bar area and the swimming pool was the actual one used in the first series of Celebrity Love Island (the set had been moved around the island for the resorts use). It was quality - the pool table and table tennis along with the inside seating area was were the celebrities slept and you would walk out sit on loungers around the exact pool they used. Not a massive deal but hopefully you can realt more to where we were staying as you may have seen it. That night we made the most of happy hour at the bar. We stocked up with big jugs just before happy hour finished and for the next few hours made an assult on them until we felt it was bed time. It was a brilliant night but the next morning evened out the night before. The heat added to last nights beer and left the group feeling on edge till about 2/3 pm. After stomacing some lunch we headed for the set of Love Island. It took about 5 minutes from the resort and we eventually found it. There wasn't much left as big parts had moved around the island. The love shack was still in tach though although absent of the toilet etc. The bath and jacuzzi were still there although un-useable. After strolling about we walked along the jetty where Kelly Brook and Partic Kielty presented from.
We soon headed back to the resort to catch our boat back to the mainland. It was a nice island - maybe not as nice as others we had visited but thats me being very finicky.
We chose a different destination from our first stay over in Nadi and headed for a place called Horizon backpackers hostel - is was nice and had more modern facilities available. We were again in a dorm and after grabbing some food we soon headed to bed.
The next morning we were up and about about 9 as we were trying to catch a flight to New Zealand that eveing. We got to the airport about 1130am and our potenitial flight was delayed until 1005pm. We waited and eventually our patience paid off and I write this from out hostel in Auckland, North New Zealand. I ve not seen enough to report on yet.
I ve added some more pictures so take a look - my camera battery ran out so not all of them are on yet.
Take care and hope you have enjoyed keeping up with me so far.
