hi everyone,
I was elected to lead...not to read!
how are you all?? hope everyone is well n enjoying things. Thanks for messages. sorry i haven't been emailing back much. Ive been busy enjoying myself.
I havn't written since 9 july so thats been over two months ago. I have done about 1 months work and one month off in that time. I did more garden maintenance. I can mow (and brake mowers) quite well now! Im finished work now though as Im off to europe on sunday. Ill tell all about that below.
Sightseeing wise ive been to a couple of museums, and to scotland. scotland was a great trip. 3 days. Wemt to edinburgh, the highlands and the isle of skye. Great experience nad fantastic scenery. Also last week i went to and Engkish football game to see a cup game between Charlton (championship team) and Stokport (crap 2nd division team). Charlton were crusing at 2-0 n stokport looked ordinary but a 15 minute blitz had port up 3-2 and had silenced the loed, abusive but fun charlton supporters. However the chralton supporters started chanting at their owns fans "2-0 and we f***ed it up" it was hilarious. But charlton jumped back at the end with two late goals to sink the port 4-3. I also went on a day trip to Bath and Stonehenge. Fantastic day. Stonehenge is great and has a good audio tour (what a geek). You are pushed to make up your own mind about its original purpose. I believe that is/was an ancient calender. Their are some very significant stone thats line up during the winter and summer solstice's. The pagans hav big dance around hippie-fests on these days every year. It truly is amazing to think about how it was built. Bath is a sweet town. Pretty much a uni town and also home to the world famous Roman baths which are great. They were built around a natural spring that apparantly had healing powers. The whole town looks the same becasue it is all made out of a special yellow looking stone quarried near bath. It's great. They are building this new big glitzy supermarket...out of this old looking stone. It's going to look great. Ive done a few more parks. Hyde pk Kensington Pk inc Kensington Palace. I went into harrods and took some very discreet photos of myself in the mirror wearing obscenly priced sunglasses and caps. I also went on an organised walking tour and saw the changing of the guards parade (you don't actually get to see changover but you get to see all the commotion and fanfare of the guards coming up the Mall (big long royal street leading up to buckingham palace. pronounced 'Mal' as in Malcolm not like a shopping Mall. But it sounds very odd when people say it. I still say Mall (shopping mall)). The tour also took in Westminstre Abbey which was great. Amazing place with very ornate ceilings. The ceilings in theses places are amazing. Thats about it really.
During one of my weeks off though I spent alot playing golf. Fisrtly my friend and I played a round of virtual golf, then the next day a few of us played some pitch n putt golf. You get 2 clubs...a pithing wedge and a putter. The holes are about 50-70m long. It's so much fun. Then we had a bash at the driving range later that day. Awesome.
Cricket - has been going vey well since we last spoke. We are one game from end of season and Im currnetly sitting 2nd in our clubs run scoring list. Ive got a game up my sleave to try to get 1st place (but my quack on saturday did me no favours). Now scored 8 fifties for club including a 93 in a development league game. Im also having a bowl. Ive now taken about 15 wickewts for the season. Our team is pushing for promotion and we play the other team lokking for promotion on sat. Winner gets promoted. The club life itsel;f has just been so good.
