Day 7:
It started to rain last night. It was nice but I had to close my hatch. I was somewhat awake when I heard an alarm go off. Yves got up and I thought he turned it off. I thought it might be an alarm clock and it went off again. Yves went up top. It was really raining hard and had some good gusts of wind.
I looked out the stern windows and my eye caught the Teepee about 150 feet away. This seemed strange to me as they seemed much further from us the night before. I decided I should get up and see what was happening. Yves was topside in the rain and wind and he was looking serious. I asked if we had moved and he said he thought we "tipped" two times (meaning we had lifted anchor and the boat had moved). We discussed that he was concerned as we were close to the shore and a reef. A few minutes passed and then Yves went forward and started to prepare the anchor house so that we would reposition and re-drop the anchor in another spot. I awoke Greg as per Yves request and Greg and I hoisted anchor as Yves moved us away from the potential hazard.
Once that was done we decided to make breakfast. We discussed the change in plans due to the weather, no longer able to take the time for diving -and using the air compressor system (Yves can get 2 people down to a max of 80 feet on the compressor with no time limit - too bad we can't try that as that would have been an experience).
We cleaned up and then starting looking over systems on the boat. Nap time.
I watched a couple of quick podcasts and then started to read more of the "sailing for dummies" book. I tried working on tying the "bowline" knot but it is still eluding me.
Yves went to the Teepee to download some charts for the girls and Greg made us sandwiches. We cleaned up and went back to reading.
Yves came back with an invite from the girls to have coffee. I was game and we rowed over. Good coffee and conversation.
More rain and it looks like that is what we will have for the next few days as well. It is doubtful we will get to do more exploring. The plan is to provision the boat tomorrow; and then Sunday is cooking and cleaning the hull (we do get to use the compressor for that :)). Should be at Customs on Monday and off then.
Yves just checked for an Internet connection, but no luck. Greg is working on making fettucini Alfredo for dinner.
