Tim & Sadies Travels 06-07
WOW. KL. Arriving at the bus stop we diddnt really know where we needed to be or what we was going to be doing? Fortunately there were 2 other backpackers with about as much idea as we had. We made ou way to a hostel where we booked in for 2 nights. Not wanting to stay long in a big smelly city, we planned to go to a place called Taman Negara, one of the oldes rainforrests in the world. A bus and a boat ride later and we had made it to the rainforrest. Now going from a big commercialised city to the rainforrest is quite a big difference. Electricity and running water was omly avaliable for a few hours a day, and the main form of transport was by narrow speed boats. While in the jungle we did a canopy walk, which was walking accross suspension bridges in the tree tops aroun 30-40 ft above the ground, very fun. And we did a jungle treck. Where i was leached. A leach managed to get under the buckle of my sandals, and was having a good ssuck on my blood. b******! 2 and a bit days in the jungle was enough. From here we caught the jungle train to the north of the country. So the jungle train a non air conditioned, no fan train with hard seats and a 10 hour journey. Gretat! To make things even wors we managed to break down in the middle of no where for 2.5 hours before another train came and pulled us along!
