Grouse Mountain and Capilano bridge were amazing. We got the sea ferry over to North Vancouver and then a bus to the bottom of Grouse Mountain. Took the cable car up to the top of the mountain and the view was amazing, saw some wolves in an enclosure and when we reached the top it was still covered in snow. Think we chose a great time of year to visit.
Then we saw some bears which had just come out of hibernation so they were a bit stinky but my god they were huge, just glad they were in an enclosure, it was definately close enough! Had a coffee in the lodge and looked out over the views of Vancouver.
Next we headed for the suspension bridge at Capilano which was a great surprise, walked across the bridge which swayed constantly but was really fun. Then went for a treetop walk through the forest along thin wooden suspension bridges high up in the trees to protect the forest floor.
We got public transport throughout the day and never had to wait more than a couple of minutes, made the day even better!
Headed back on the ferry to chill out for a while before heading out for dinner, the food here is great.
Off out now for a day in the city before we collect our hire car tomorrow and head for the wilderness watching out for those bears!
