Hey, well funnily enough, im now back in Washington, having been to Boston for the day. Got an overnight train last night back down here, slept all of about 3 minutes i think, so pretty tired, but nothing a cup of coffee cant cure! Its 7AM here as i write this, so if im honest, im just killing time before everything opens here, but also, as its raining...yes raining... im trying to stall the idea of going out into it as much as possible as i lost my waterproof on the train a while back! oops. Boston is a pretty cool place, and yes, it doesnt have the touristy bit, i.e the cheers bar, but as you rightly said Scott F, that it is tacky touristy stuff, but its gotta be seen! be glad i didnt take a cheesy photo of me stood outside it! went round the tour of the Red sox ground, Fennely Park, which, considering im not particularly interested in american sports was really good. Definately reccommend it to anyone.
Also, went across the water to see Harvard University. It was populated more by japanese tourists taking photos than poncey students walking about in tweed and cordroys (spelt right?), but there were a couple i saw. Really nice place though, kinda made me wish i'd done the whole uni thing over here, but hey. Ok so being the cheap b******s that we have to be, we decided to walk back to the centre of town, again, big mistake, it was miles, and by this time it was starting to get warm, and we were all achey. So not a good move, but we made it...into a bar for a couple of cold beers....yum, then back to the train station, which wherever we are nowadays seems to feel a bit like home! Theres this whole feeling of relief i feel everytime i walk into one...maybe this is what it feels like to be homeless, warm climate, roof over my head, toilet on hand, heaven! anyway, best go, got a lot to see today...in the rain :(
Oh and also, as you probably are aware, i have now found a way to load my photos onto the internet, so ill be sure to add as many as i can, when i can!
Miss you guys, Tim x
