°o° ..."It's a small World after all" °o°
Today is the day I've been waiting for...Disneyland!!!! We wake up early again and I hear the clap of thunder and the rain hammering down...sad face. Hoping the rain will not put Mark off Disney we catch another 40 winks and then shower and pack....leaving a few bits behind as our bags seem to have shrunk in the last two days! As we pay up with the Hotel we realise the rain has stopped...yippee and we make our way to the train station and head to our next accommodation stop Noah's Ark.
I realised last night that the hotel is actually a resort and park although it does look really cool, it the only 'life size' replica in the world. As we get off the train and find the bus we realise the rain has started up again and it feels quite biblical to be heading to an Ark....what could it mean? We make it about 5 meters away from the entrance of Noah's Ark and run liout of coverings, hoping the rain will ease up for us to make a dash for the next bit of cover we set ourselves up underneath a stair well and tuck in to the leftover chicken from last night...yum!
Realising we were going to cut into our Disney time we end up making a dash for the park and check into the hotel leave our luggage and head back to the train station to catch the Disney train....I am so excited!!! Even the train is cool, the windows are Mickey Mouse shaped and everything. We arrive at Disney and I feel like I want to cry....I'm so overwhelmed with tiredness, heat and happiness (this continues all day and I well up a few times)!
We arrived at the train station and everyone started to get there tickets out...we panicked we didn't have tickets yet...it took a few minutes to realise they were using train tickets to exit the station...we had those! Haha.
Disneyland was amazing...we had so much fun, we went on the Cinderella Carousel, Winnie the Pooh ride (so much cooler then you would imagine), Jungle cruise and Space Mountain... we got a great picture of us on this one...we avoided some of the rides as I was concerned we wouldn't get to see the whole park in time and Mark felt sick just by looking at them! There was another roller coaster that took us by surprise by going backwards half way round...in Mystic Point we asked some guy to take our picture in the cut out head thing and he then proceeded to follow us to around taking pictures of me behind Mark, it was strange, but nothing new unfortunately!!!! Obviously we went on the 'small world' ride which was a whole new experience for Mark, he loved it and the song is now stuck in his head, which wouldn't be so bad if he sang the right words! Mark keeps singing "It's a small world don't you know", bless him it's not like the the song is repeated for the whole ride!
We saw the Golden Mickey show and the 3-D show, they were both awesome real raw theatre entertainment. The Flights of Fancy parade was brilliant....I think I have found my calling in life. We bought head gear and the longest time we queued up was to have our picture taken with Mickey and Minnie, which was where we saw Pooh bear walk in to a lamppost...classic! We both walked around with the biggest grins on our faces all day and the rain stopped within an hour of us arriving at the park, what timing! The day was finished off nicely with a firework show above Sleeping Beauty's Castle.
With the purchase of many professional photos, we then joined the crowd for the train ride back and had a shower and then off to bed.
Such a good day... Disney really is the happiest place on earth... Big smiley face. And I think I have finally converted Mark to my way of life....bring on Disneyland Paris on the way home.
