The space pods we were staying in were pretty cool! They were controlled by a key card and you had everything on the dashboard for charging and controlling lights inside on the wall with a huge mirror. The only thing was the bed was crap and the mattress dipped in the middle. Also the snorer next door is going to get strangled if he isn’t careful!!
Shattered and slept from 9pm but jetlag is a b**** and woke me up at 2.30am - do you think I could get back to sleep!! No. I tried my bloody hardest but no luck, finally gave in and went down for breakfast 7am before the others joined me. I was not a happy bunny for not sleeping!
We were all ready up and out by 9.30am to walk our little socks off! Our attire today wasn’t an Instagram look I must say! Dirty trainers with creased outfits, sweaty body’s and our hair stuck to our face and head from the humidity.
We walked through Chinatown and across to the bay to the half fish half lion merlion statue squirting water into the bay, we were going to get an ice cream shaped like it but it was S$14 and we ain’t got time for expensive ice creams like that!
Across Clarke quays and raffles shopping mall to get a good dose of air con because my god were we sweating our bottoms off!! Raffles hotel was next on our list, that place is beautiful and you can walk around it for free! That place is on our list tonight for an original Singapore sling in the long bar!
We walked up to Haji Street where they have quirky boutiques and bars with awesome graffiti all over the walls and then around to Arab street which just had loads of textile and material shops with beautiful Turkish and Arabic restaurants. It would have been rude not to have a drink on happy hour and enjoy the atmosphere and I think we earned it! It started to get a little stormy so we headed back for a shower and chill in the ice cold hostel (it was like walking into Iceland in an ice storm, bloody freezing in there!)
Afterwards we headed out for a bit to eat on smiths food street in Chinatown and headed over to raffles - in the pissing down rain!! Humidity and rain isn’t good for the hair...
But the sling was worth the run slip and slide through the rain and a 15 minute wait in the queue for a table! Oooo bloody lovely it was and we got to crush - eat - throw monkey nut shells on the ground!

s*** sleep again was better than last night but still I’m gunna murder that snorer, I found him at breakfast this morning too. Urgh, resting b**** face was on form and my scowl was even better.
We headed out around 10am, another big day of walking through China town and down to the marina bay sands hotel to have a nosey around and in the shopping mall there which is basically a huge playground for the rich, a bit like fashion avenue in dubai mall.
We booked a table for drinks on the rooftop bar at the hotel tonight because it was cheaper than the observatory deck and we got a drink up there too.
Next was a walk across the bridges to the Singapore F1 track and then through to little India.
It’s nice to walk through the humidity just to see the change in all the areas of the city from little India to China town to the fancy pants district. By 2pm all three of us were shattered and had walked 14.5km, sticky sweaty and hot we all decided to go back to the hotel for a rest up, and shower before heading out to the street market in front of the marina bay sands for dinner before going up to the rooftop bar at 6.3pm.
But omg didn’t it just absolutely piss it down as soon as got into the hotel the thunderstorm was absolutely crazy! Just in time to watch it from the window haha. Then to find out that there’s a major typhoon hitting the phillipines on Tuesday so our flight had been delayed to Manila which meant thankfully that our flight to Puerto princessa had been cancelled and rescheduled also (so we didn’t loose money on it) and we managed to cancel our hotels in El nido also. What a pain in the ass and what the hell! It’s not typhoon season, after checking the news it’s not looking very promising either, it’s a bloody big one and they’re expecting a lot of damage from the 200kmph winds. The airport looks set shut for twelve hours which means we will probably be delayed more or it’s going to be a nightmare getting out the other end. Tomorrow was going to be turning into a very long day of travel... whoopy!!.
Dashed through the rain to the metro and slid our way through all the malls our flip flops weren’t the best thing for rain and shiny tiles! The street food was outside but underneath shelters which we could eat under and it wasn’t cold so it was no bother. The veggies were scrumptious, just wasn’t looking forward to walking around the bay and over the bridge to the hotel, I went bare foot and hid under Ellie’s umbrella with her.
We got to the bar just in time before they let our table go; fifteen minutes late but just intime for happy hour! They almost didn’t let me in because I had rubber flip flops on. Well... I’m sorry but if they hadn’t let me in I probably would have put the water works on after running half way around the city in the rain. They made an exception “just this once” bloody good job! The happy hour wine was half price which was a bargain because you had a bucket full glass of it aswell which was surprising for the posh restaurant, hotel and country we were in. It was lovely though! And the rain had finished and you had a 360 view of the city/country/island what ever it’s called.
Next stop was the fountains at the front of the marina to watch them, they have nothing on dubai but the show and lights reflecting off them were pretty cool. After that we headed to gardens of the bay and watched the light show in there. It was Christmas themed and had a Christmas market in there. Some beautiful quirky pieces of jewellery but super expensive. Not about that right now haha!
We were all shattered from the walking so it was in fact time to make a move back home and sleep! A solid 18km in the bag today, I don’t think that’s too shabby!
