Friday 22 February
The storm has eased but another wave of rain is forecasted to be following us East today so we set off early to catch up on the miles we lost yesterday and to, hopefully, be ahead of the rain. In the main, we manage to stay clear of the rain and when we cross the Alabama/Florida state line the sun even comes out. Unfortunately though we do eventually come across a passing front that drops a substantial amount of rain but we head on through it unscathed although somewhat damp. A god time for lunch, petrol and a time to mark the fact that we had arrived in Florida, the last state of our journey Part I.
Looking at the map we had to decide on how much further we were going to go today and how much that would leave us to do to get to our friend Shelly's place in Deltona tomorrow. The most logical place looked to be Perry and that's where we spend our last night on the road for a while.
