So it turns out that Australia is by far the strictest country I have entered.
When I left Singapore, after clearing customs my bags were again checked at the gates and my water was confiscated, which I was pretty pissed off about considering its an 8 hour flight and they barely give you a drop on board. I also read that it is illegal to enter the country with more than 50 cigarettes, you will be heavily fined. When I got off the plane it also stated that if I used my mobile phone before clearing customs I would again be heavily fined. I had to fill out a rather lengthy landing and customs document and went through numerous customs and bag checks before and after collecting my baggage. I was quite surprised. My dad has warned me that he though they would be quite strict in Singapore but I have to say that was the friendliest and most easy going airport I have ever encountered. Quite the opposite to Australia.
