Today we arrived in Delphi, which is basically a town in the mountains. Our balcony has an incredible view! we saw both the archeological site and the museum. Somehow we ended up accidentally climbing another half a mountain. whoops. Tomorrow we head for Athens which will hopefully stop being on fire. Incase non of you are aware, prettymuch every suburb around Athens in on fire.
Olympia was fantastic. I hadn't thought Sparta was going to be a large town, so after that I had expected Olympia to be HUGE, but it was the PERFECT small town. There wasw one mainstreet which went on for about 5 blocks. It was closed off at night and that is when the town came alive. kids were riding bicycles up and down, parents were sitting outside talking. There was one kid in particular...Dad and i were walking down the sidewalk and we heard this 3 or 4 year old racing up behind us on his tricycle. So we step aside to let him pass. We could almost see him form this mischevious plan as he began to giggle. Nwxt thing we know he taks a sharp turn right into a jewelry store! he did a loop around the counters and exited with a high pitch squeal of excitement (he'd probably swiped some jewelry).
Olympia was interesting. we walked through the original entrance to the stadium, and we watched as many hamstrings were pulled by many adults who clearly had not run for a long time as they attempted to sprint the 200 meters.
There are so many cats hanging around Greece. they all beg for food and i want to take them all home with me!.
The end.
p.s. sorry for the typos, i'm useing a greek keyboard and concentration on not typing the greek letters.
