An early start as Richard heard an intruder open our camper van door at 5.30 am, so although he grabbed an empty ruck sac no damage done.
We got up early and caught the train up the mountain towards the Jungfrau, the clouds were clearing a little by the time we got off half way up the mountain. We walked to Kleine Sheidig with many others then had coffee as the north face of the Eiger emerged in front of us. We decided on the longer walk down to Wengen, it was really beautiful, wild flowers, pastures, cow bells, woods, streams with amazing glimpses 'over the edge' down to Lauterbrunnen. We met an exhausted English family walking up desperate to know how long it would take them to get to the next hamlet for their children's much needed cokes! Even their dog looked tired, they had walked right from the valley floor.
A beer in Wengen and train down with a loquacious Chinese student. Even managed a load of washing/drying before the rain set in.
We've changed function of the extension now;to outer wet lock area, inner pretty damp, inner not too damp, van ...lovely and cosy.
