We woke to a beautiful sunny morning with mists hanging over the dark forest bright blue sky above, R and I made an early trip to the bakery and did last couple of sets of washing/drying clothes that now at 6.30 pm seem a distant memory. By coffee time everything was bone dry (hard to believe I know) we set off on our bike trip up the river through green flowery meadows (actually we had to stop first in a cafe for Black Forest gateau and Bismarck torte (I think that's right) simply fab. We passed the Charolais cows (I took the picture for Andrew, they looked very happy in clover). 7k up the valley we came to the toboggan run, had a go ... quite fast but apparently not as fast as the one in Kandersteg, had our picnic in a very green park, boys had another go on the run whilst we drank coffee (again) back down the valley still in glorious sunshine much faster than we imagined knowing the route and down hill so plenty of time for relaxing with a book. R and R went crazy golfing I gather Rory got a hole in 2 that took RIchard 30 ... the scoring seems rather vague from then on, then a relaxing evening cooking risotto on the Cobb (google this implement if you don't know it ... It's new to us and really brilliant for cooking on ) WIll explained to Richard the plot of his book which took all evening so Rory and I planned tomorrow, another leap across Europe from the Black Forest via Lake Constance and Lindau to Bavaria, I can't wait to see all those castles.

Ps we keep seeing lots of dear little dogs, like the terrier just like Jess on the campsite, the pug sitting on the pay desk for the toboggan run who liked having his ears tickled to the poodle who seems to belong to the cleaner of the 'sanitary block' who is deep brown and very interested in the comings and goings. A friendly cat on our walk yesterday chatted a bit to us but no chickens in Germany so far.........
