After the storm last night, all scouting prowess was bought into action. Played games till the rain cleared (all very Lake District camping). We're testing German washing machines to the max.
Finally stopped raining, so skipped out for a walk into the Forest (all very Little Red Riding Hood). The Black Forest is much as imagined; pine forested hills, chalets, cook-coo clocks and cake. See photo.
Then guess what - a thunderstorm!!! Our over confidence with the change in the weather left us soaked through enough to raise a smile from the local as we trudged back to base.
Food,wine and beer raised our spirits and had a jolly night surrounded by drying washing, thunder and lightening all around.
