Well, we've now left the mainland (according to a South Islander) & crossed Cook Strait (a 3 hour crossing) We are in Wellington for a couple of days. We're staying in a really nice 'home stay' (B&B) where we have our own 'unit' with bedroom, bathroom & living room/kitchen. Plus our own garden entrance. We have breakfast delivered to us & never see our hosts! On the ferry we met a couple who came here to live 30 years ago - they used to live round the corner from us in London! We have met some lovely people during this trip - they have all been so friendly & most helpful whenever we seem lost. Next stop is Napier where we're looking forward to seeing all the art Deco buildings. We're also going to Lake Taupo for a couple of days & calling at Rotorua to see the smelly geysers. After that we're treating ourselves - again - & staying in another homestay in the bush outside Aukland. Should be good. Then it's the last leg of our journey - San Francisco - on 12th March. Promise more photos as soon as we can find another internet cafe whose system can cope!! love to you all - thanks for the messages. PS Jane we got your poxy - sorry roxy - flip-flops so hope you like them. Ann - did you want us to bring you back a hoody?
