Well hello!!!!!
Hope everyone is ok back home?!?
Firstly, HUGE congratulations to our big brother Leigh and his future wife Carla for setting the date for the Big Day! So please for you both. So we shall definately be home on or before 15th May :)
We had a great week in Vegas. It's somewhere everyone should visit, theres so much other stuff to do other than gambling!
We spent 3 nights at the Circus Circus at the North end of the Strip. The hotels are all so big, they have their own casino, fairground rides, restaurants, spa...everything. You can go on holiday to one of the hotels and never have to set foot outside!
The first day we walked all the way to the South end of the Strip, to the MGM Grand, and back again! It's quite far, farther than we realised! We saw the Lions at the Grand, they were so beautiful.
We also went to the Vegas Outlet Mall and bought some new clothes at bargain prices! We could have gone crazy there be we were very good!
We went to the Aquarium at Mandalay Bay. Not sure if it was worth the $18 each to get in, it was quite small! But nice all the same.
We spent the last 4 days in the Imperial Palace. We soaked up a few rays by the pool, not too many though as it was baking hot!
We booked to see a show called Absynthe for one of the nights. It was hilarious. We wanted to see one of the Cirque De Soleils, but they were all on holiday :( but I think we made a great choice in Absynthe. It was kind of a circus act, like a Royal Variety Performance thype show, except it had lots of boobs, swearing and lots of use of the word 'penis'. But we thought it was great!
We enjoyed a lovely meal at the Planet Hollywood Restaurant. Stevie was a little upset that we weren't sat next to some cool costume, like something from starwars, instead of the robe Whoopi Goldberg wore in Ghost.
We heard that the average person leaves Vegas at a loss of £300 from gambling, so we were very pleased to only lose $60. We had a little flutter on Black Jack and a game called Wheel of Fortune, but didn't know when to walk away and ended up losing!
At the end of our stay we hired a red Mustang convertible for 4 days. It's an awesome drive, and definately a much nicer feeling driving one of those than the previous rental in Miami (Hyundai Accent!). We drove with the top down all the way out to the west rim of the Grand Canyon. This is up there with our Machu Picchu trek. The sheer size of the canyon is immense. There are no railings or ropes round the edge, you just shuffle as close as you feel safe to do and peer over the edge! We took lots of pictures, but they don't do it justice.
We stayed the night in a village (?) if thats what you can call it. It consisted of a motel, a diner, some scattered houses/trailers and a church. It might as well have been called Hicksville. There was one point were we thought the locals might want to eat us at some point.
We set off the next day for San Francisco! We coasted along the highway all the way up the SF and over the Bay Bridge into downtown.
That's all for now!
All our love
Stevie & Sam
