Well hellooooooooo :)
Hope everyone is well at home?? We miss you guys! Big hugs to Myles - we love you big guy, and congratulations to Jeannine on your new job :)
We have spent the last 5 days in San Francisco. I could definitely live here (Stevie is not so kean!)...the houses and architecture are just so beautiful.
The weather is a bit strange though. One minute it is hot and the sun is shining, then the next minute there's a mist that has rolled in off the bay and and wind appears out of no where. We always made sure we had a hoody just in case.
We went to see Alcatraz on Thursday morning. It's got such great views of the bridge and the skyline from there. We had a little audio tour round the prison which was very interesting, we didn't realise that the prison guards and their families actually lived ont he island! Learn something new everyday.
We had a wonder round Fisherman's Wharf and Union Square.
We took a super long hike on Tuesday all the way from Union Square, across to Height Street (which was like being taken back to the 60's!) to Buena Vista Park, then onto the Golden Gate Park. That was a loooooong old trek! The Golden Gate Park is massive, and we could have spent a whole day just looking round there!
On Thursday night we went to the Academy of Science at the GG Park. It's adults only on a Thursday night, and they have DJ's playing music, and bars set up to serve you drinks whiile you look round the Academy. They had all sorts of wildlife there (unfortunatelhy our camera ran out of bettery not long after we went in) and a huge planitarium. We thoroughly enjoyed it.
We met a lovely couple at our hostel called Rich and Loucy, who were also on their 'honeymoon' after getting married and had been travelling for almost a year. They were at the end of their travels and had gone in the opposite direction to us, so they gave us heaps of advice of what to do and where to stay on the rest of our travels.
We also took a trip to the Golden Gate Bridge. The pedestrian side of the bridge was closed at the other end though so we didn't manage to get to the other side. As far as bridges go, it's impressive.
Tomorrow we fly to LA to meet Alex....EXCITING!!!
All our love
Stevie & Sam xxx
