Hi!
How lucky are we to have spent both our birthdays in Hawaii?!? And we were very spoilt! Thank you to Christine, Jonathan, Jeannine and Jean for the trip to Universal! Thanks to Ellie and Mouse and Hannah, who paid for us to go to a traditional Luau, and to mum and dad for the Thai Meal. Thank you for all the cards that were sent over with Alex, it was a lovely suprise! Stevie found Michael's card particularly funny.
We spent a few days lazing around on Waikiki beach, we both burnt on our first day sunbathing, typical British. Stevie got a snorkel set for his birthday off me so has been getting lots of use from that. He said the reef is very active with all the fishies swimming around!
Stevie bought me a lovely little Tiki man for my birthday, hand made out of wood. Hopefully won't have any problems taking it through Australian customs, we hear they're a bit tough.
We went for a beautiful Thai meal, stuffed ourselves full of food, then followed it up with a boogie and $1 drinks in a club.
We took a trip to Pearl Harbour. We saw the Arizona Memorial. I think it would have been a lot better had it not been so packed! There were lots of people poking and shoving to get photos, which kind of ruined the feel.
We took the bus up to the North Shore for the day. It is much quieter up there, fewer people, fewer tourists, and it seemed a lot less commercial.
We went to the Paradise Cove Luau. again, this is a very commercial thing to do, but it was something Stevie and i wanted to see. There were 700 people there altogether! It was cool, they had traditional dances, tattooing, fishing demonstrations, and the uncovering of the pig after it had been roasted in the pit! The food was good, and they had a show while we were eating, finishing up with fire dancing. Thoroughly enjoed it :)
So, now we are off to Fiji...
Lots of Love
Stevie & Sam xxx
