Coimbra a lot smaller then Porto but still a lovely old city. Visited the University there which is the main tourist attraction, and the ninth oldest in the world. Paid one euro extra to go up the tower which after a very long narrow walk up the staircase we made it to the top with a good view over the whole city. Back down and it was time for entrance into the Library. Very old, massive library. A lot of books I guess, massive pieces of art work on the roofs. Overall very nice city due to the fact we were there over Easter the number of students there was very minimal.
Next up was the capital of Portugal, Lisbon. Arrived at the hostel very clean and social. First night was absolute madness with the pub crawl which we decided to sign up to. Three bars then ending with a club. First bar was a free shot which went quick next bar was free all you could drink beer for an hour. With the very smart tactics from myself we were able to utilise this hour very well, as the line to where the free beer was reaching out the door so we decided to tuck away right next to the bar as well as stash beers as we went. Next bar was another free shot and then it was onto the club. Somehow during the night we got let into the VIP section of the bar which looked down on the rest of everyone else. After getting a tad lost by myself I managed to get back to the hostel at around 7am. Which meant that the next day was completely wasted as I arose at around 4 in the afternoon. The next day we missed the walking tour so we went ourself, brought a 24hr pass for all public transport so we visited the Belem tower and other key sites. We then had lunch and then went off to get tickets for a train to Lagos which took a couple of metro rides. Once we got back it was time to cook dinner which once again was pasta chill and then time for bed.
