Our plan to get to the airport early worked well, and made the lack of sleep worthwhile. Got the car back and into the crowded airport well in time for the flight....or so we thought. Queues were amazing, but we ended up with 30 minutes at the gate to spare, so all was good.
Buddy, the Xmas Elf, worked his magic and we managed to get some smiles out of some otherwise very stressed staff. Still - their version of grumpy is still preferable to back home!
It's hard to believe we've only been gone a couple of weeks and that we still have a month to go! So much done, but so much left to go...
Our flight was great. Hardly any food (They ran out), so we were starved, but getting off the plane and grabbing our bags was quick, then we were right there. No big exit hall, just a small section with a few attendants. Quite surprised, but it made it easy. Booked a private bus (Only $90) right to our apartment.
The apartment is 100 metres from Central park on the West side. Awesome position, great apartment, and the owners (It's their house, they are just away so rented it out) left us a lovely welcome basket, which we devoured before the door swung shut. We have a view of other apartments, have tips for great food etc, and notes on which famous people live in buildings nearby. We had NY Pizza from 'the best in NY' and it was excellent. Went downstairs to do our laundry and felt like we were part of the set for Big Bang Theory.
Tomorrow is an early jog around Central Park (Bits of it anyway), a Xmas Market then off to have Xmas Eve with my cousing and his family. Can't wait to taste some local Xmas Cheer.
Anyway, it's late, we lost 3 hours and had no sleep. Must catch up, if only to avoid dozing off when the girls do finally get back to shopping!
Adios!
