Days 332-334, 10-12 May '15, Marrakech. AKA: Molten Core of the Earth. Now we knew it was going to be warm here... but hey - the peak temps aren't due until July / August. By our reckoning it's still definitely May. We are, however, in the grip of an early season heatwave. It was definitely a bit warm yesterday and even the locals were mooching about very, very slowly. Could barely be bothered to standup when they called from their shops... "I'm sorry, Excuse me, Hello, You're going the wrong way, Looking is free today". Some could barely bother with that... so you know they were hot. Forecast was for 43. Apparently it peaked at 48 degrees - 126 F. We were sweating quietly in the dark on the roof at 10 pm... when we checked the temp it was still 39. Let's say the air-conditioning didn't get much of a rest last night. Thankfully we did. Forecast is for the heatwave to continue til Tuesday when it will cool off (relatively speaking) to 32 odd degrees. Dwell on this... when we head to Ireland in early June, when it's sunny and 16 degrees and the locals are running about in shorts... we'll be the people in puffer jackets and woolly hats!
