Checked into the Red Crow Guest House - great location for peaceful contemplation. We missed the excitement earlier in the week when a tree came down on the power line and caught on fire. Weather in Tofino had not been good, but it was sunny for us. Arrived in Tofino after an interesting trek across Vancouver Island (very windy mountain roads). The drive was definitely worth it. I can see, however, why my grandfather wouldn't get out of the motor home on our families cross country trip back in the late 70s. The road must have been upgraded since then. Can't imagine what it must have been like then. Had a picnic lunch on Long Beach @ Incinerator rock and enjoyed the view.

On the way to Tofino, Sandra & Glo took us to Goats on the Roof - no kidding. The country market was amazing - I thought Country Produce was great - this place made it seem like Macs Milk! If I lived within 200 km of it, I would be in serious trouble! Purchased candied, peppered & jerked salmon for our picnic on Long Beach.

This was the greeting as you finished walking the gardens. Not sure how this should be interpreted - all that beauty & then a really ugly boar displaying its genetalia at the very end (cast in bronze, no less)
