Another couple of hours down the coast was the town of Eden however we couldn't resist spending the morning at Narooma and waiting until the anticipated storm arrived in late afternoon before heading down to our next destination. Eden has been built up around whaling industry of the early 17th century and we chose it because the guidebook listed it as the nicest coastal village in the south. I don't think it helped with its first impression when we arrived to grey storm clouds, thunder and torrential rain however even on the sunniest day I don't see it exceeding Narooma on the prettiness scale! We checked into our hotel and headed out in the car for a tour of the town. Feeling suitably uninspired we got some dinner supplies at the supermarket and headed back to the hotel for a very quiet night in front of the TV.The next morning and after a visit to the internet café to book our accommodation for Melbourne we headed to the beach to spend as little money as possible and where better to save the pennies than sleeping on a beautiful golden beach.
