Ok, sorry its been so long, prepare yourselves for a lengthy blog post and some bits might be a bit sketchy due to how long it's been!
So after much fun and a trip to a weird crocodile farm in Siem Reap we headed our seperate ways. A very early morning for all of us saw me and Grace hop on a flight to Bangkok and Zoe and Lucy hop on a long bus ride to Vietnam. Now, obviously i'll be able to tell you what we've done in Thailand but will have to get one of the girls to tell you all about Vietnam, from the stories we've heard it sounds brilliant.
Once we got to Bangkok me and Grace hopped on a very Thai-based bus and got down to Chumphon to break up our journey to Phuket. This was an interesting little town in which me and Grace were the only westerners for miles around. We also had a great "taxi" ride to the guesthouse on the back of two mopeds. Don't worry it was quite safe even though Grace's bag weighed her down a little too much trying to get on the bike and she ended up on her bum, legs flayling like an upside down turtle! This is I obviously found hilarious! After a couple of nights rest we got on the bus to Phuket then in a taxi to Pattong and The Birdcage Guesthouse. A quick tea was followed by a much needed sleep after all the bus journeys! The following day was spent wandering around town and sitting by the beach. The night was spent drinking and playing games with street-sellers! Much fun was had by all even though I didn't win any of the games. Another day at the beach followed but a much quieter night at a restaurant where the staff loved us!
The next day we headed down to Phi Phi on the boat where we met a group of Canadian guys who told us about a great place to stay. We checked into Phi Phi relax resort, our own bungalow and private beach. The place was beautiful but me and Grace decided we would move back to the main town the next day. However, Grace decided to fall down some steps and sprain her ankle so we stayed three nights and then heded to the main town. The next two days were spent on the beach/partying/watching Thai boxing/in bed with hangovers! I think you get the drift!
After Phi Phi we got a boat then a bus then another boat then a tuk-tuk to Haddrin in Koh Phangnan. We checked into the Coral bungalows and had a few nights there including a pool party at which I also decided to fall down some stairs and hurt my foot! We moved hotels as Coral was fully booked and hobbled to meet Zoe and Lucy from the ferry. As you can imagine it was great to see them after 10 days so we got our stuff sorted and headed to the beach for the England vs Slovenia game. The atmosphere around the MASSIVE screen on the beach was amazing as Haadrin is full of English people (it's a bit like being in Tenerife or Spain!), Much celebrating was done and the next day was spent recovering on the beach. To be honest the rest of this blog can be taken up with lying by the beach and partying. We might rent jet-skis tomorrow but I'm afraid there might not be much more culture, maybe a bit of snorkelling in Koh Tao!
