Day 41: Litchfield National Park
I am so tired today, a full day in the sun with a few swims and a couple of walks has taken it out of me.
We started the day with a walk over Wangi Falls and treated ourselves to a cooling swim at the end. Micaela, Ethan and I started swimming over to the waterfalls but Ethan freaked because the water went really dark due to the thick covering of leaves and twigs on the creek bed. We turned around then Micaela swam out with Darren. They tell me the force of the waterfall made a strong current and it got quite cool and windy. As usual Brandon was the last one in and the last one out.
After Wangi Falls we visited Tolmer Falls but I accidentally left the camera in the car so there are no photos.
By the time we finished at Tolmer Falls it was lunch time so we drove to Greenant Creek for a picnic.
We were quite warm again by now so we looked for somewhere to go where we could swim.
We initially decided to attempt a 4wd only drive to Sandy Creek but the first water crossing scared us off, so we turned around and proceeded to the Cascades.
The walk in was 1.3km and a little challenging in parts but having our own private waterhole to swim in was worth the trek. Our timing was perfect, we arrived as others were leaving and left as others were arriving.
After the 1.3km trek back it was home time which upon reaching Darren washed the car whilst I washed the beach towels.
Now everyone is tucked up in bed, readying ourselves for another big day tomorrow.
