It was forecast to be chucking it down with rain today. So as you can imagine the relief on our faces this morning when we woke up to full sunshine was just indescribable!!
An early 8am alarm was set for this morning. Standard procedure I didn't get up until 8:30! We went straight downstairs for some breakfast to set us up for the the day and then collected our bikes from the bike shed.
Our ride today immediately started with a huge climb to the top of Rannoch Moor, a mere 1400ft above sea level. This definitely woke us up for the day, but for the pain of cycling up this mountain we were rewarded with amazing panoramic views. The clouds had lifted and revealed a huge array of mountain tops, most were snow capped still.
After reaching the summit it was a long downhill into Loch Lomond. Here we cycled along this loch for about 20 miles all the way to the bottom where our hostel is situated in Arden. Tonight we a staying in a huge castle/mansion that has been converted into a youth hostel and it really is something! A bit freaky and I'm sure there are some spooky stories at this place but I guess we a yet to find them out.
Anyway great day but must shoot dad is pestering me to leave for the pub across the road!!
