Hellloooo. We're back at Hotel kehoe after a great little trip up north to the Bay of Islands. We went up on Thursday to a place on the Bay called Pahoi which was very pretty. Its where the Treaty of Waitangi was signed which is the thing gave Britain control of New Zealand. Anyway, we didnt go all the way there to soak up the culture and learn about the evolution of New Zealand, we went for some highly commercialised, touristy fun. And thats exactly what we got. After a few too many drinks on thursday night we boarded the Mack Attack on Friday morning which is a jet propelled boat that goes 100kmh, or 50 knots if your a sailor person! We got flung around the Bay of Islands for a couple of hours stopping at the famous Hole in the Rock which needs no explaining and also stopping to watch a school (is that the right word) of dolphins swim past the boat. The dolphins were amazing, they look just like they do on tv! Once back on dry land we made our way back down south to a town called Whangarei (pronounced Fongaray) which was nice enough but nothing special. Despite big protests from Gem, Phil dragged her to the cinema to see the new Jackass movie, Brilliant. Ayway we're back at the Kehoes now, going gliding tomorrow then think we're heading off on a tour of the North Island. Bye for now xxx
