We're in Sydney!!! We've done loads already but that can wait. For our last few days in Melbourne we moved out of our apartment and moved in with Jed and Amelia, they're our new favourite people!!!!! We didn't manage to do much on Sunday due to the enormous hangover that, wait for it...GEMMA was suffering!!!!
It was very funny but never mind, Monday was fantastic. We had tickets for The Rod Laver Arena on the opening day of the Australian Open. It was amazing weather and the seats were brilliant. We saw all the big guns, Mauresmo, Federer, Baghdatis and loads of others. It was like being at Wimbledon except the weather wasn't horrible and you didn't need a gold card to buy a sandwich. Such a good day and to cap it off when we got back to Jed and Amelias house we had Mexican food!!!!
We were due to fly out of Melbourne at 12 on Tuesday but due to "unforeseen circumstances" the flight was delayed until 5, rubbish. Never mind, Sydney has definitely been worth the wait. We're staying just outside the CBD so when we arrived we headed straight up to Circular Quay to see the Opera House and Harbour Bridge...both are spectacular.
A couple of days ago we went to Bondi beach where I finally got to play with the body board that Gem got me for Christmas, its amazing and I think I'm a natural. I learnt 2 valuable lessons though - No. 1, that getting dumped by a big wave is mildly terrifying and No. 2 that applying suncream unevenly can lead to some seriously naff looking patches of sunburn. Never mind, Bondi was amazing and we're both determined to learn to surf before we leave.
Yesterday was another top day. We went out on a cruise around Sydney Harbour and saw all the sights then went to Sydney Aquarium which is apparently Australias Number 1 attraction. In fairness it was good, mainly because you get to walk in a tunnel underneath a load of huge sharks. There was also a big Finding Nemo display with loads of tropical fish, I found Nemo.
We're off to stay with Auntie Julie today in the Blue Mountains which should be good fun. When we get back we're probably going to stay in one of the beach resorts, maybe Coogee or Manly, we'll see. Hope everyones well xxxx
