A very diverse day! Initially we caught a ride up to the pilgrimage site of Lough Derg with a coach driver, Denis, to meet pilgrims from Kerry who had spent the last 3 days and nights fasting and praying. Lough Derg is a vast upland Lough in the hills with what looks like an Italian monastery on an island in the middle. A very peaceful place. The first pilgrims off the boat didn't meet my expected profile, as they were young girls dressed up to the nines, possibly travellers. On then into Kesh for a late morning coffee, where it was annual fair day and the main street was full of restored tractors and other farm vehicles. The cycling is still quite hilly, all doable but it's good to have some straight long flat runs now and again. Finally on the way into Enniskillen we called in at the Ulster Rally HQ to watch the rally cars coming in and out to be serviced. The service teams were quite happy to talk and shared a lot of info on the costs of running the teams, how much the vehicles were worth and how long it took to change a gear box, an unbelievably short 8 minutes!!! Now at an excellent B&B in Enniskillen. Off to Drumshanbo tomorrow.
