Hello everyone
I hope you are all well and not suffering too much with the cold spells I've been reading about. Strangely enough, Sydney has been having its hottest run of days since Jan 2006 - which I experienced then and it was stifling. For the moment, I am still down with Alex and Mike in Malua Bay, where it has also been very, very hot.
It is lovely down here. It's very quiet and very beautiful and we have been doing things in a very relaxed way !! Alex and I went to Mogo Zoo and saw white lions, meerkats, tigers, lions, various apes, a beautiful snow leopard, cheetahs, etc, etc. It was a really nice zoo and all the animals were well looked after and had plenty of space to roam, whilst still being easily visible for us to "cooh" and "aaaah" at. We also went to Birdland Animal Park where I had a HUGE black snake wrapped round my neck and we both cuddled the most gorgeous orphaned wombat called "Connie" of all things.
Yesterday I went bush walking in the Botanical Gardens while Alex and Mike were working and we've also done some lovely walks by the sea. Later on we are going to walk down to Garden Cove, which they overlook, via the track at the back of their house.
It's also been really great to have Alex work her chiropractic magic on me to counter the after-effects of the accident.
Tomorrow I'm going back to Sydney to help Ian look after 3-year old Olivia for a week, which should be interesting. She is absolutely gorgeous but really knows her own mind !! Sarah, Eric and the baby are in Holland looking for somehwere to live as Eric's new job is based in The Hague.
I'm now staying in Australia until 15th March and am then going to spend some time in Denver near Phil. Hmmmm - Aus heat to US cold in one day - should be interesting !! I'm still trying to decide whether to do a tour of Tasmania while I'm here. Alex and I have still got to finalise diaries as I definitely want to come back down to this lovely area again before I leave. Ian and I may also go to Canberra to see Jason and family, so if we do that it makes sense to stay somewhere for a few nights and "do" Canberra as well. So much to do - so little time. Oh dear - I may just have to come back here. What a drag !!
Time to go now as we're going to walk down to the beach, have a leisurely lunch and then go and see some friends of Alex and Mike and then go to a dinner party with some other friends. What a hard life.
Lots and lots of love to everyone and STAY WARM AND HEALTHY and send me messages.
Issy
