The World according to me...
We booked our Ayutthaya Tour at Canary travel with lunch and Bang Pa Inn Summer Place (850baht). They picked us up at the hotel and we went to Khao San Road for the other passengers. Cris and I travelled with 3 European girls and a Korean family. We were seated at the back of the 18 seater van and we were 11 tourist, the tour guide and the driver. It was a long trip so we fell asleep. I was not feeling good that day but I managed to stay cool and proceed with the tour.
Ayutthaya - Ancient City or Siam is the second city of Bangkok. It's consist of Prangs and old monasteries. The tour consist of:
Wat Chai Mongkol - It is stunning to see a temple built in 1357, it houses a large Chedi, a Reclining Buddha and lots of Stuppas
Wat Phra Si Sanphet - The largest temple of Ayutthaya known for large stuppa's.
Vihan Phra Mongkol Bopit - one of the largest bronze buddhas in thailand.
Wat Lokayasutha - reclining buddha.
Wat Phra Mahathat - temple with large pagoda and one of the very oldest.
Wat Chaiwatthanaram - one of the most imposing ancient Buddhist monasteries.
Bang Paa Inn Summer Place - the resthouse of the Royal Thai Family
Lunch was provided in a small restaurant around the vicinity. We ate near the river banks. It was so hot that day. The lunch was made of rice, scambled egg, some mixed veggies and chicken with sweet and sour sauce. I liked the chicken the most because I do not eat veggies. They also served pineapple and watermelon for desserts. The drinks were not included in the package.
I enjoyed the Bang Pa Inn experience. It is a huge resort build for the King and his family. The facilities includes a huge gardens and landscapping. You can see some structures from different countries.. They have Chinese style royal palace and throne room, some are western influence. I rented a golf cart for 400 Baht because I am so tired of walking.
After a tiring day roaming around Ayutthaya, we went to Khao San Road to savor the local Thai foods. Khao SAn Road is a busy street in Bangkok where-in you will find anyting from good food, clothes, good music and bars. I tried the Phad Thai and Cris bought some mangoes. We were so tired that we ordered food from KFC and brought them to the hotel. After a few hours, we headed to the Victory Monument to took some photos. 11 pm and we decided to go home and rest for the next day will be a very very busy day.
