Kia ora from Aoteroa!
After stopping off in Sydney for one day we caught an early morning flight out to Christchurch in new Zealand's South Island. Best flight we've been on so far this trip! We were served champagne with breakfast and as we flew over New Zealand we got the most amazing views of the mountains including Mount Cook, it was beautiful! After arriving in Christchurch we drove to a place called Lake Hood for the night in a fabulous little B&B right on the lake. We then headed off to Dunedin along the coast for 2 nights. Dunedin is just fab, it translates as Edinburgh so a lot of the street names are the same as in Scotland. With 2 universities there is a huge student lifestyle which means ... You guessed it ... PLENTY OF PUBS!! ;o) We visited the Chinese Garden and then walked around the city taking in the amazing churches and architecture. We walked over 2 miles to the Roslyn overbridge which has fantastic views of the whole city. The sun has finally come out in the land of the great white cloud and my hubby knows how to keep me happy ... Next stop a seat in the sun with no wind where I can have a cool drink :o)
After 2 nights in Dunedin we headed toward Invercargill travelling down the south coast scenic route. WOW!! I've never seen scenery like it!! A journey that should have taken 3 hours took nearly 6 because we stopped so many times to take photos. We arrived at our motel in Invercargill to discover there is some bike rally near by and the place is chock full of hairy bikers! Fortunately we made it through the night and we're packing up to head to Te Anau and Milford Sound for 2 days then off to party in Queenstown.
Hope you're all well, we miss you all loads xxx
