Got everyone's contact details in the morn and had a good craic on. The two couples decided to chill it out for the day, but me and Czech tractor and Frenchie decided to hit the road. We all decided to meet back up in Pokhara.
On we went to Jomson, where we would get the bus back to Pokhara. Screw the rest of the circuit, the snow was melting into horrible sludge and we were broken men. I considered finishing it off myself, but I couldn't stand the thought of not being home for atleast a few more days, and there was another big climb of poon hill before you finished. Sack it!
The two were really good company and we had a right laugh mooching down. Talked about travelling too. Frenchie told us loads about Morrocco, and their beef with Algeria and about the French colony etc. and it was really interesting. Stuff like this is why you come backpacking, and I'm so lucky to do it. Frenchie also told us how he thinks the best steaks should only be cooked 30s on each side, as the meat should be good quality. Typical Frenchman!!! Meanwhile Thomas told us about ethipia and how they were camping in the middle of nowhere and some locals stayed up all night and guided their tent as they were concerned that animals would come. He also told us about generous the people of Iran are, and that he as there one month and only stopped in a hotel a few times as random people would also offer to stay at their house and pay for his food etc. This is actually a recurring theme and everyone I've ever met who has been to Iran says the Persians are by far the most hospital people out of all the countries they have been travelling, and that they all hate their leader as he gives Iran the worst PR image to the rest of the world which isn't true.
We took a short cut across a dry river bed, crossed some streams so our already soggy feet got even wetter, and the circular stones of the river bed made for an uncomfatable walking service. We were glad to reach jomson and found a guesthouse. Not only any guesthouse though… Jimi Hendrix only stayed here once back in the day! There wasn't any fire however they did put hot coals under the table to warm our feet. Didn't really work though. Thomas also bought chow mein for the first time after revealing he didn't have a clue what it was….. what?
