Last week, after much deliberation we booked and paid for the flights, so its done, there's no turning back..
Over the last few weeks we have researched the entire Lonely Planet collection of books..we are now officially Water stones best customers!...ummed and arred about various locations, spoken to friends and relatives who have taken the travelling plunge, budgeted so well we make George Osbourne look like an amateur, sorted out the youngest s accommodation and staying alive arrangements during the summer holidays (thanks Auntie Em!) bought a very large map of the world (with pins) and have finally come up with our itinerary and route (everything else that follows is subject to change because we might get lost , kidnapped, eat something nasty or bitten by something evil or we may just be having such an amazing time somewhere that we will stay on for a bit!)...anyway itinerary is as follows: June 30th -Fly from Heathrow T5 at 3pm to Miami-quick stop then on to Lima. (trekking mountains, volcano's, Llamas, deep fried Guinea Pigs, Amazon rainforest's, Inca trails, Macchu Picchu, pan pipes, Chile, Brazil etc) . On my birthday, 18th Oct, we fly to Auckland (auntie Ro..tarua!, explore the north island for 2 weeks) then off to Australia-Melbourne, Sydney, Byron Bay, snorkelling the barrier reef, avoiding enormous deadly spiders (who wrap you up in their webs and come back three weeks later to finish you off!!...true story!!), swimming with dolphins, avoiding sharks with big gnashers, blue ringed octopus and box jelly fish, boxing with kangeroo's, Queensland rainforest, aboriginal gorgeousness, boiling hot Christmas and New Year) then onto Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos.. haven't researched these fully yet but will add adjectives, verbs and nouns as soon as I have them. That takes us up to April (ish) 2013 when we will fly back to the UK in readiness for Joe's graduation and 21st birthday and my bruvs big 5...O!!!...
Right now, vaccinations, big boots, factor 97 sun cream, mozzie nets and backpacks!!
