Woken up by the sound of heavy rainfall crashing on the cabins rooftop. Oops we kinda slept in till 12! Oh well geared in our waterproofs, it's off to Ecole for brunch and Indian Chai!
After spending the previous bight alone in the hostal it was nice to see new guests today; bernard and Renaud from Canada.
Seeing as it wouldn't stop raining we decided to take advantage of this and go White water rafting, even convinced the newbies to join us. Rapids on Rio Trancura are class III run in the lower part of the river, followed by a challenging class VI.
First stop is at the office to pick up our wetsuits, helmets and paddles. As we were in the middle of an open area, us girls had to run into the van to get changed! Was not an easy task. All changed we drive down to the river where they pump up the raft with air.
Team English vs Team Spanish. After what was a short 5 MI ute safety and paddling guide, we jumped on board and off we went paddling down the river. It was sooo much fun, although we got absolutely soacked. I even got b****-slapped across my cheek by tree branches! At the end of rafting we were all given our first Pisco Sour to warm us up! It was yummmmmy and citrusy.
I'm guessing Bernard liked it too as he wrote me a copy of the recipe which he later googled, didn't realise it involves egg White?!
Feeling clean after a warm shower we headed out to Lebanese restaurant which was closed..oh well look likes we shall just go to Cassis a gem of a place which does the most amazing crepes! I love how my backwards thinking of eating dessert before a main meal is spreading on the girls. Back to the lebanese place.
Passing the towns supermarket we wentbin to have a look at the local produce and ooopsy we ended up leaving with two bottles of Pisco Sour. I guess that's evening plans sorted.
We just hanged out by the fire in the lounge area with Bernards and Renaud playing presidents a****** and drinking.
Uh oh Renauld why did you show Reena your Macchu Pichu stamp! she's now obsessed with it and the traditional Bolivian Alpaca jumper he's wearing (she's secretly trying to steal it!)
Soon enough all the newbies staying at the hostal joined us. Apparenly we were making too much noise that the neighbour threatened to call the police!!
