We had hopes to wake up early but after a night if drinking whiskey the plan failed and the fact it had been raining all nights and morning didn't help.

Poor Nia our hostel owner, she layed out a breakfast feast, but after seeing the kitchen day before the princess in me refused to have brekkie! With some hand actions we managed to explain we were too hangover and our tummies couldn't handle any food, when really we snuck of to the island bakery and stuffed ourselves with gourmet pastries and sugar loaded donuts!

Nia and luciana our room mate from Sao paulo were shocked how much us girls drank oops!

Off hiking : )

Excited to finally start wearing my walking gear. Waterproof and boots ready we set off on our first hike armed with a bottle of water and a map.

Decided to do two trails which would take us through the forests and pass through mAny of the islands beaches and eventually reach Lopez Mendez famous beach!

All I can say is this was one hell of a hike. We walked for about 6 hours up steep hills, across river streams, over large rocks with random bursts of rainfall. I can't belive we choose to do this voluntarily!

As you walk through forest you let out a sigh of relief when you see a random human go pass! At least you know tour taking the right route!

Although it was a major struggle at tines everyone seemed to enjoy the hike. We've renamed Tanna T10 (name of trail) as she fell well over 10 times with Reena following not far behind.

The funniest was when we were walking downhill all I saw was Tann runnig down the muddy clay terrain saying "I can't stop" i was watching expectig her to eventually stop instead she throws her arms out trying to hug the tree to help her stop, but she misses and ends up rolling over in the mud to an eventual stop thanks to the tree stump! It was a priceless moment!
The rest of us were in buckets of laughter for ages! Ps she didn't injure herself.

After all the exercise we built up an appeptite and of course went to our beloved bakery cafe.

Tanna decided she wanted to head back to the hostel which is a 3min walk and the rest of us were on a dessert rampage (ok only me!).

Around 25mins later sitting in a cafe Reena said wouldn't it be funny if Tanna was still wondering around the island and at thAt exact moment from the corner of my eye I saw pink rain jacket and saw Tanna!! At first I thought she had gone to the hostel freshened up and come back out to meet us but then I saw the pizza doggy bag from the place where we had dinner! We all burst out laughing for a good 5 minutes the timing of reenas comment and tanna's entrance was priceless. Turns out she had been walking arround the island lost she even got someone to draw her a map!
Since she left to go to the hostel we had gone to the shops, got some gelato, went to the caffe for coffee!
