Bariloche is framed by the snowcapped Andean peaks. The heart of town is Centro Civico, a spacious plaza.
The town has a buscard system, before we can go anywhere we needed to find a kiosk to top up a card! After going round in circles we eventually get on a bus to Parque Nacional Nahurl Haupi, time to explore the seven lakes.
The Parque covers a whooping 7050 square km.
Bless the little school boy on the bus who tried to chat up Reens! The guy hadn't even hit puberty yet!!
After a 30minute stroll we reached Lago Gutierrez which had a beautiful lake surrounded by large cypress and beech trees and a soft sandy beach.
We could of walked around for longer but I think we were all too excited to head back to town to visit the famous chocolate shops!
We were acting like little kids who had been let loose in a candy shop. First stop of my tour was Janjua, famous for their ice cream and let's say their reputation does not dissapoint. Drool over the ice cream sundae I had!!
Belly full, time for part two of my tour a visit to the actual stores! One whole street full off stores, in each one you walk in they give you free samples! Me and Tanna were going crazy, i'm sure you know by now we are both chocoholics.
Found cutest mini American looking fake village with a crepe stand, cupcakes and of course chocolate.
My eyes glistened when I saw the sign 'Mamuschka'. From what I read, this was 'the' shop to buy chocolate from. The tough job of choosing between mint, bailyes, marroc, coconut, cheesecake, the list goes on and on!
An hour later after numerous chocolate samples were ingested and several bags bought we took a chocco timeout to visit the towns cathedral which was gorgeous inside.
By now Reens was on a hyper sugar rush! Sooo gonna take advantage of this and go to all the dessert places in town.
