Night Location: Rome, Italy
After checking out of La Tosca, we left our bags at reception and walked down the Via Krupp to Marina Piccola for a morning swim. The sun was shining beautifully across the water which made the walk even more spectacular. Even Mum could not resist the water today and after staying in the shallows for a while, agreed to be towed by Amber and Gemma across to a little pebbled beach on the opposite side of the cove. Ancient glass and ceramics have been worn down into tiny little colourful pebbles and we spent time sitting in the shallow water searching for 'treasure.'
We enjoyed a lite lunch sitting in the slung back chairs of the kiosk looking out across the water. What a great way to finish our time on the Mediterranean!
After changing into dry clothes at La Tosca we began the transit back to Rome, which with each time, gets easier and easier. We are staying in a luxurious hotel just off the beautiful square of Campo di Fiori. The interior is furnished with plush, silken draped four-poster beds and velvet chaise lounges. After asking at the front desk for a recommendation, we ate at a tradtional trattoria that was quite close to the hotel. Gemma was particularly happy with this trattoria as she got to choose her own porcini mushrooms from a basket that would be cooked for her. We just love Rome!
