Day 2 complete! It's crazy that I really only have 7 days left in Germany. I must make the most of my stay. They take such good care of me, I couldn't ask for a better host family than the Schalows.
Today was a chill day. I spent most of the afternoon out in the backyard playing Phase 10 with Johanna, Thea & Melina. I won! Which was very surprising, but exciting. (: We made drinks called Hugo, with fresh peppermint leaves from the garden! Precious, huh? We also went to the grocery store. Similar concept in America, but yet very different. The cashiers sit. You have to purchase grocery bags. The produce labels are printed after you weigh them. I don't know, it's just different. But cool!
Blessem every year hosts a town festival, in celebration of an old castle there. It was really quite cute. Live music was being played, everyone was socializing, people were enjoying traditional German sandwiches, and of course, BIER!! I myself had 4 beers, with Cola. Very tasty! Much better than American beer, but that is a given. I even ordered our drinks, in German. Ha. I spent the time mostly with Johanna, Thea, Melina, and Nina their neighbor. We talked with Johannas family and friends. They are all very kind to me, since they know I am a foreigner. But regardless of that fact, they are nice people so they would be to anyone! Overall, it was a good time! I love the spirit of celebration in Germany. I told the girls today, that my interpretation of their so called "Holidays" is just an excuse to drink beer ;) Hahah.
Before heading to bed, Mo & Thea and I watched Nick & Norah's Infinant Playlist which was so cute. I really enjoyed it. Dude! I ate Hungarian potato chips! So weird. I miss Tim's Potato Chips ;(
Schon okay! The food here is AMAAAAZING! Time for some shut eye. Mo keeps twitching in her sleep! Should I be concerned?
Anywho, gute nacht!
Au Revoir moi! Xoxo
