Map quest said it would take 8 hours and 51 minutes, with Hector's driving we decided it would only take 8 hours max and then Houston laughed at us. I thought Miami's traffic or I-4 was bad, boy was I wrong. Once entering Houston, and only 4 exits until our next highway, took over an hour and a half. Needless to say, once arriving to our hotel we were exhausted. Vinny did great on the ride down and throughout the entire process really.
We woke up at 5 so we could have Vinny to the cargo by 7 am. After arriving "too early" according to the attendants, they informed us that the crate we had was too small and we would not be able to use it for his trip. Within seconds of explaining that the crate had already been approved at a another location, I broke into tears in front of everyone. The tears seemed to help though because within 30 minutes we had a solution. Vinny will be placed in a larger crate while in Newark.
For now, Hector and I will be awaiting our flight at the Houston airport, and then again in Dallas. Next post will likely be in a day or two.
Until then, adios!
